Slavery in Ghana
In our ordinary day we are not aware of what is happening around us, we do not believe that there are cultures in the world with different point of view from our, different values and habits. Some cultures do not respect the children andhumanity rights.
In Ghana, there are children who are sold by their parents for less than 27 pounds. Children are trafficked around 3/4 years old. These children work 14 hours a day, seven days a week on the Lake Volta, the largest artificial lake in the world. They are abandoned by their responsables. These children are kept in captivity by the the people that buy them. As that children are exploited, abused and living in isolated islands with no opportunities to escape. Terrified, don't know their name and most of them don't even know their age.
It's sad that it happends today, in a world more and more developed, there are children living like this way, while in parts of the world, has children who live with all the comodities, happy with everything a child is entitled, the right of be happy, to play, to be a child.

Obesity in Portugal
The rate of childhood obesity in Portugal is the highest among European countries and is growing day by day. This is due to food and sedentary lifestyle that is becoming more common in children.
Obesity is a disease that has always existed because of some genetic causes, but today there is factors that helps this growth, particularly the modern lifestyle. Children no longer play in the street, they are at home on computer or watching TV. We allow the advertising of food products such as juices and 'fast food', which influence children, while some another countries are facing the food business.
The estate is that only now begun to recognize obesity as a chronic disease, which causes other diseases and can lead to death and have high social consequences. The Portuguese state already contribute in some treatments to fight against obesity, but there must be a change in the way of facing this disease of our part.

The first person who made a plastic operation.
The first person who made a plastic operation is called walter Yeo `s. English Officer that during the first world war was disfigured in an explosion during a naval battle at Jutland in 1916.In 1917 the officer was treated by Sir Harold Gillies, the father of plastic surgery because he was the first surgeon to use skin from undamaged areas on the body.
Sir Harold opened a specialist ward for the treatment of the facially-wounded.
Warrant Officer Yeo is thought to be the first patient to benefit from the newly developed technique "a form of skin grafting technically known as 'tubed pedical'." Sir Harold said that plastic surgery was developed to cope with the new and horrific injuries resulting from the unprecedented firepower deployed in the war.We know very little about this man but there is record that he continues to make plastic operations until 1936.
As we can see the plastic surgery was creat to save wounds of war, very different from what we see on the television series.
